Aluminum-clad, double-acting, insulated cooler doors available with spring butt hinges or gravity hinges, ideal for walk-in coolers or for separation of rooms with low-to-moderate temperature difference.

Construction: Available in door thickness of 1-1 / 4". Doors are insulated with high-density expanded polystyrene and faced on each side with 0.063" satin anodized aluminum riveted to an extruded aluminum frame. Full perimeter sealing is provided by a replaceable, neoprene, double-wiper gasket on the top and vertical edges and an adjustable double threshold gasket on the bottom edge. Door clearances are: top 3 / 4", bottom 3 / 4", hinge edge 1 / 4", swing edge 3 / 4" (given clearances exclude gasket). Doors may be mounted to wood or metal jambs (1 / 4" steel reinforcement is recommended on hollow metal frames).

Type 3 - Gravity hinges are attached to the door with thru-bolts which allow for easy maintenance or replacement.  Gentle closing action is activated by a roller cradle assembly at the top of the door and an offset pivot at the bottom of the door.   Type 3 doors are not recommended for drafty areas due to lack of positive closing and holding pressure.

Type 3A - Spring butt hinges are attached directly to the extruded aluminum frame with sheet metal screws and factory drilled pilot holes.   Spring butt hinges provide adjustable positive closing force ideal for applications requiring rapid closure.  The positive spring pressure will also maintain doors in the closed position under drafty conditions or where a pressure differential exists.
