Lightweight, double acting aluminum sheet traffic doors are available with spring butt hinges or gravity hinges, and are ideal for high volume foot traffic areas in retail, grocery, warehouse, or food service applications. Kick plates and push plates are optional equipment for this door.

Construction: Aluminum traffic doors are constructed of satin anodized aluminum sheet, available in thicknesses of 0.063″ standard duty or 0.090″ heavy duty. The hinge edge is constructed of either aluminum angle or aluminum extrusion, riveted to door skin. Door edge clearances are: top 1/2″, bottom 1/2″, vertical 3/16″. Doors can be mounted in wood or metal jambs (1/4″ steel reinforcement is recommended in hollow metal frames).

Type 1 Spring butt hinges are mounted to 1-1/4″ x 1-1/4″ x 3/16″ aluminum angle which runs the full height of the door and is riveted to the door skin. Spring butt hinges provide adjustable positive closing force ideal for applications requiring rapid closure. The positive spring pressure will also maintain doors in the closed position under drafty conditions.

Type 2 Gravity hinges are mounted to an aluminum extrusion which runs the full height of the door and is riveted to the door skin. Gravity hinges provide gentle closing action activated by an offset pivot at the top of the door and an adjustable cam plate at the bottom of the door.
