This Solid Core, laminate clad door is ideal for medium duty traffic where décor is important. This door is available in a variety of colors and hinge, window, and gasketing options, making it the most versatile and cost effective door on the market.
Standard Features: 12″ x 20″ double pane window 3/4″ exterior grade plywood, high-pressure decorative laminate on both sides, or tough ABS plastic outer skins, and 18" tall stainless steel kickplates on both sides.
Construction: Rugged .048″ high-pressure laminate or tough .100″ ABS plastic offers a wide variety of decorative choices to compliment your interior. The durable skins cover a solid core of 3/4″ exterior grade plywood with a tough heavy duty black ABS frame, with or without gasketing. The standard 12″ x 20″ window is framed by a single piece .125″ ABS frame for easy maintenance and a tight seal.
Heavy duty 20 gauge stainless steel kick plates protect the finish and appearance of this quality door, and it can be mounted in wood or metal jambs. A variety of hinges make this door fit any application. Gravity hinges are attached to the door with bolts for easy maintenance or replacement. The gentle closing action is activated by a roller cradle assembly at the top of the door and an offset pivot at the bottom of the door.
Type 8 doors are not recommended for very drafty areas due to the lack of positive closing and holding force.
The Type 8A uses Clamp Flange or Spring Butt Hinges, attached directly to the solid core interior. Both provide positive closing force that is ideal for applications requiring rapid closure. The positive spring pressure maintains doors in the closed position under drafty conditions or where a significant pressure differential exists.
The Type 8B V-Cam Hinge uses full length extruded aluminum spine, full length steel rod, and an extra-heavy-duty gravity hinge. The hinge is operated by the heavy duty V-cam bearings and roller assembly at the top of the door and a cast steel bottom bearing. It is ideal in operations where extra strength is required or heavy cart impact is likely. Teardrop bumpers are recommended for forklift or cart use.
