Type 4A Installation
THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE TO BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE INCLUDED INSTRUCTIONS
PUBLISHED BY BOMMER INDUSTRIES AND PRINTED BELOW. CARLSON PRODUCTS TYPE 4A DOORS USE
THE TYPE 3029 DOUBLE ACTING SPRING HINGE
- Attach the door flange of hinges (see Fig. II) to door using Phillips head machine
screws. Door spines have been predrilled and tapped for suface mount hinge
installation. Hinge locations may vary from locations suggested in the included
manufacturer's instructions due to door weight
- Doors may be attached to jamb in one of two ways:
1) Hold door up to jamb and mark
jamb flange hole locations on jamb. Attach door to jamb in these locations.
This method works best for light, easy to handle doors or when the use of an assistant is
possible.
2) Measure hinge locations on door and mark same locations on jamb.
Attach door to jamb at these locations. This method works best with heavy, difficult
to handle doors or when the use of an assistant is not possible
- Tension the springs according to "Spring Tensioning Instructions" as printed
below on manufacturers installation instructions.
- Check for proper operation and alignment.
