SPRING BUTT OR CLAMP FLANGE
DOOR INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE TO BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS PUBLISHED
BY BOMMER INDUSTRIES PRINTED BELOW.
- Lay out a centerline on the vertical jamb from top to bottom. This line will be used to locate the mounting holes.
- (Type 1, 3A, 4A) Attach door flange of hinges to doors using Phillips head machine screws (see Fig. II). Door spines have been predrilled and tapped for surface mount hinge installation. Hinge locations may vary from locations suggested in the included manufacturer’s instructions due to door weight.
- Doors may be attached to jamb in one of two ways: 1) Hold door up to jamb and mark jamb flange hole locations on jamb. Attach door to jamb in these locations. This method works best for light, easy to handle doors or when the use of an assistant is possible. 2) Measure hinge locations on door and mark same locations on jamb. Attach door to jamb at these locations. This method works best with heavy, difficult to handle doors or when the use of an assistant is not possible.
- Tension the springs according to “Spring Tensioning Instructions” printed below.
- Check for proper operation and alignment.
